Specie invasive dell'Adriatico
In collaboration with artist, Tindra Olsson-Hoffman, our project submission for the 2025 Bocciardi Conference at UC Berkeley explored invasive species within the upper Adriatic and Venetian Lagoon, researching species of particular concern and their negative impacts to the local ecosystems. We created an art project based on these finding, taking inspiration from the sustainable sourcing by the Venetian restaurant, Venessa, Il Ristorante. While studying abroad in Trieste and Venezia we learned of this restaurants novel and sustainable approach to menu planning that leveraged the use of local invasive species. We chose five species to focus on for our pieces.
